Otto Scharmer gave a keynote talk at Aalto Social Sustainability Symposium in 2023. At the end, he guided a short journaling exercise. We will do the first part from that here.
The key is to just get the writing going and not think, as Scharmer instructed.
First, sit comfortably and still, close your eyes, and just follow your breathing for 3 minutes. Then pick up pen and paper. Without thinking, take 5 minutes to answer the following question:
Where in your work and life do you feel the future now? Where do you feel a sense of future possibility?
It can be very clear or it can be very amorphous and ambiguous.
What did you write? What do you think about it?
Write a max. 200 word description of your experience with the real-life activity.
